I found this brass plate at a site that was a Confederate camp which was later occupied by the Union during reconstruction. The site was also later used as a rifle range during the Spanish-American War. Several buttons and coins have also been found but I have never been able to ID this relic. There are no markings. Any idea what this is?

Thanks for the reply. Have any idea of what time period this may have come from?

I have only see a couple of them, not as ornate as yours though, but they both were dated to the mid 1800's.
