Found two of these here in texas, and found two just like these in Mississippi on an old wagon rd. Have no idea what they are.

Have no idea what it is but this is the first thing I pictured when I saw it.

Re: What is it?????

Yep, I thought that too. My grandson even put one of them on his head, but that metal would be a little unconfortable.

Chicken Feeder...no seriously...that or a UFO... ;D

Dr. J. Allen Hynek, astrophysicist from Northwestern University, is a consultant to the Air Force on UFO sightings. He has stated that he neither believes nor disbelieves in the existence of UFOs, but is awaiting further evidence. In the photo shown here, he is displaying a published picture of a "flying Saucer" which he said looked like a "chicken feeder."

Chicken feeder? I've seen some others, but none that look like that... would that be the bottom part that held feed??

Re: What is it?????

I have a couple of those domes somewhere at my house. Haven't seen them for years. They were used to cover holes bored into the ground by a geological survey team. The first crew would come through with a huge machine that would bore the hole and drop a charge down it and they would place the dome over it. The second crew would come through on a later date and set the charges off.
These photos were taken in 1972 when they came through this area. The first shows the dome and the second the machine used to bore the holes.
