What is it? Old Relic Hook Thingy..

I found this little guy the other day, but I don't know what it is. I picture a wooden pole slipping into it, and the hook is used for something...

Does anyone know what this could be?

somebody just posted one day before yesterday and I always have thought they were off the end of a harness single tree...but evidently perhaps not?This one is larger than the other though...

The one posted the other day is not for sure a singletree tip But no question about this one I just took one exactly like it off off a singletree last sunday I found detecting at old farmhouse.
