Found at 8 inches, showed as 50 cent piece on my QDII. Measures 1/4 x 1/8 x 2 and is not magnetic. I don't have a weight as my scale is broken.

What is it?

Costume jewelry bracelet?

I thought about that but's it's rather heavy, hard to bend, and given it's size would have to be for a child. It does appear to have gold plating.

But it's a possibility.

Curtain holder. Maybe?

It resembles a 19th century copper "slave" bracelet. Used as money in Africa, many were brought here. That's my best guess. Maybe lost during an underground railroad active way back in the day.

My first thought was the same as Smokey's... an African slave trade bracelet. :icon_scratch:
Most of the examples that I've seen were made of bronze and your appears to be made of copper.

With the pieces of metal folded over the ends, I'm thinking an Eastlake Style drawer pull makes more sense.
This looks similar, but it's made of brass.
