A rainy day in Tennessee is a good time to add relics to boxes. If you have read our (Dman's and mine) posts lately, you know we have been hunting a CSA camp since last Friday and finding several bullets that we don't find often here. I was in the process of adding relics to the box I already had started from earlier hunts at that site when I saw a Confederate blow thru bullet that reminded me of a Enfield bullet that Breezie posted on a topic started by Modern Miner a few week ago. The topic was "Carved bullets and other lead oddities" or something like that. "Blow thru" bullets had the pointed end blow out due to bullets molded from inferior quality lead or the bullet wall field cast too thin. I have only dug them in CSA Camps. I'm hoping Breezie will post her bullet here too.
It looks like a soldier loaded an Enfield on top of a musketball and fired it but I want to hear other theories if you have any (so does Breezie).
I appreciate your help and Happy Hunting.
YTD CW Relic Count=63
YTD Colonial Count=11
