First couple of photos look like a flattened copper float that's come apart at the seam.

Yea,I think your right the first one looks like a copper plate or pot.I have dug em in mid 19th cent sites.I have also seen a early boiler pot made from copper

Really! This site is a old plantation right off the banks of the MS River. I did some research and there were many slaves and there was a small town as well. I tried to find information on it but I can't find much. Who would have used copper plates? Rich or poor? I've never heard nor seen one before and was shocked when I dug it up! I'm a beginner that's why I'm asking ha! Thank you :)

I cant say rich or poor.......the fellers in my camps could have been either depending how longthey were here or how lucky they may have been?Unlike now,where copper is kind of a thing of luxury or status symbol,it was a thing of function back then

It might be a carriage lantern or an early car headlight.
