Haven't been able to do a whole heck of a lot lately, but I have finally had time to share what I have been finding and it has been hard. I am on a sifting site and the rains have made it nearly impossible to get dirt through a screen. So I decided to take the buckets of removed dirt home and screen it with the water hose....works great.. The site is an old store that was used from 1840s to 1880s and was the site of a blacksmith shop early on as well. So there has been some good old nails, just finished restoring them.there are lots of clay pipe pieces but no whole ones yet. There seems to be lots of lead shot too and little glass but this one top was nicest....again nothing whole. The brass stencil was from new York stencil works dating to the 1880s, near the end of the stores use.the property is filled, so the artifact layer is about 2 feet deep, making it a job of shovel tests.Anyways, that's what I am up to.
