Anyone have any idea of what this might be? Looks like it might be made of brass but not sure. The ends or knobs are all threaded. There's four knobs and it looks as if one is missing as there should be five from. There is also one larger threaded hole in the center. It sort of resembles the grenades used during the civil war but seems too good of shape to be that old. I appreciate some help.

It's a fitting for air or fluid distribution , the fittings look like 1/4 " straight pipe thread , right handed as near as l can tell. I'd say it was a manifold system for a non-explosive gas, such as oxygen or CO-2. Explosive gasses are normally conducted through fittings with left-handed threads. Fluid fittings are generally tapered pipe threads.

I've spent my life fixing everything from microwave ovens to aircraft, I got a National Guard tank going once at a parade when they forgot to switch their fuel on and didn't know how to bleed the injectors

Im not doubting your ID but any chance of a matching pic or a supporting link? Thats how it usually works here on this forum. Thanks.

It sounds about right. I searched a little online for a 5-way round shaped distribution manifold but I dont really know where to look.

It would be an intensive search, that thing could've been used anywhere between agricultural and medical. Being brass and round, I'd say it was old only because nowadays they just use preformed bar stock, square, hexagon, octagon, etc.
