I do NOT think it is a bullet mold because it does NOT close up flat . It is blacksmith made and is very old . It has a name on side but can't read it . It is 15 inches long . Inside top is half round on both sides as you can see . I seen a picture of a tool that a doctor would use to remove bullets But that tool was used during the Revolutionary War . What ya think ?

Creskol nailed it.

Horse farriers carry these in their trucks to handle glowing hot (orange) horseshoes.

These belonged to my great grandfather . He would have owned them in the late 1800's . 1900's at the most . Maybe on his wagon . Thanks . Why would they have the half circle on each side tho ? I have blacksmith tongs that were his also but they look like the ones that you see more of . The ones with the straight part that sticks out about 2 inches on each side . I googled and found what a NEW one like this looks like ! THANKS . Now I KNOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
