What happened to User Contests?

Taking out the collection today to reflect on finds of the last year, I came upon my only gold coin, a 2005 1/10 oz. gold bullion coin (St. Gaudens Walking Liberty), that i didnt find with a metal detector but won on a TH User Contest from FreeTwoDetect. Basically he set up a situation where whoever had the best story about their find, whatever it was, would win the coin. I miss these user contests and wondered what happened to them, the Hall of Fame of the Contest Winners etc.

Anyone with similar feelings? Considering many can't go out because of perpetual foul weather, maybe we could start these again.

There ya go, A gold coin for a prize! What a swell person to send you a nice coin like that. Just think there could be other contests. All people have to do is post them. I'm still thinking of the find free2dtect contest. This one would have to start once i move and take up a new Id. Then i come back as someone else and you got to figure if it is me or not. LOL

I think it sounds like a great idea! Lost treasure has a contest every month or so. It is also good advertisement. Vern
