I have been away for a while and when I came back I am missing some great folks who were here before. What happend to the following people: Nahabit (from Russia), Doug-Iowa, and TinPan. There were also two older gentleman. One of them was retired policeman from Oklahoma and the other one took great pictures of old mines, old towns, and the Western landscape.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Well I know of Monty from OK, that fits the bill. He had been ill for a while and is on the mend. He still posts, but not nearly as often. Haven't seen anything from Tinpan either, so who knows

Anyway, people stop for various reasons, whether it's personal issues, or just taking a sabbatical

I would like to help you Ron but seems to me the moderators will have to chime in. They can tell you when they were last logged in, can't they?

I did post that several people had emailed me saying they were moving on not due to the forum layout change (which was being suggested as the cause) but for the reasons Bluehunter suggests. Some went to other forums, others decided to just plain give up on them.

I doubt it had much to do with unsavory type members, otherwise they would have bailed way before the change :laughing7:

Nope, I would believe that it was the combination of a new format, unwillingness to learn to navigate, and ego trips that made many depart. Funny thing, the site improved, but it did take some time to get it close to where it was, but now with several improvements.

Further, I think some thought they had a vested interest in the site too :laughing7: If their voice, or concern was not addressed quick enough they cried and moaned, not wanting to relinquish any imaginary power they thought they had :tongue3:

They forget, I pull the strings here :laughing9:

I was wondering the same thing about: Nana, Michigan Badger, Lumbercamp, Gypsy Heart, and a new comer, Icandy. She was fun to have around.

Michigan Badger still post's He made a post yesterday under everything else...............He don't post under metal detecting or gen dis. or brands to much now............ I think it is just to much repeat every thing on these post's.. you know....what detector should i buy what number should be on this coin ...... my detector goes deeper than yours............. All that boring repeat crap......... I think that's why some leave.......or just post under other things.....

icandy made her last post on July 9 2012 this year under metal detecting.........The rest of them i have no idea..

I always enjoy tinpan's posts. Monty and sodapop bob are like bulldogs when trying to figure out a "what is it" post. A lot of good regular posters, some overseas. I kinda get a kick out of the posters who are just one clue away or know right where the nazi diamonds or pirate treasure is. I can never tell if they are for real or not but enjoy the reply's.
