IT IS WHAT YOU THINK IT IS - HUNTING PARTNER OF MINE FOUND IT ABOUT 20 YRS AGO
IT WAS FOUND AT A NEW ENGLAND CELLAR THAT DATED TO LATE 1600S EARLY 1700S
EVERYONE TOLD HIM -EXCEPT ME - THAT IT COULDNT BE REAL - BECAUSE THEY ARE SO RARE
I TOLD HIM TO HAVE IT CHECKED PROFESSIONALY - PLACE HE CONTACTED SAID THEY WANTED A COUPLE HUNDRED
TO CHECK IT - HE DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY AND HE WAS AFFRAID TO PAY THEM AND THEN BE TOLD IT WAS NOT REAL
BECAUSE OFWHERE IT WAS FOUND - THE AGE OF THE AREA - IT IS SILVER - IT IS TARNISHED (WAS SUPPOSEDLY DARKER WHEN FOUND)
THE LETTERS LOOK CORRECT - THE STAMPING LOOKS CORRECT - MANY COPIES - COINS ARE STRUCK ON A METAL SURFACE AND STRIKES DONT SHOW
ON THE OTHER SIDE AS THIS ONE DOES - YOU CAN SEE OLD SCARS ON THE NE SIDE THAT ARE FILLED WITH TARNISH TOO
HE PUT IT IN A WDDEN CABINET IN HIS CELLAR WITH OTHER NICE COINS AND RELICS ALONG WITH SOME FAMILY JEWELRY
HE HAD SOME TENANTS THAT WERE NOT PAYING THEIR RENT - HE THREW THEM OUT AND HE THINKS THEY STOLE IT ALONG WITH OTHER ITEMS UPON THEIR LEAVING - HE DID NOT REALIZE FOR MONTHS THAT IT WAS MISSING AND HAD NO WAY OF TRACING IT OR THEM - SINCE ONE LIKE IT HAS NOT APPEARED OUT THERE - ME THINKS THEY SOLD IT AS SCRAP SILVER AND ITS LONG GONE
