What do you do with the clad penny's that are so bad, that coinstar won't even take them? I'm talking about the really ate up newer ones? One thing is for sure, they won't be around 100 years from now!:laughing7:

Well I could spend them, but really don't want to carry them around, so I just toss them in the garbage.

Would a merchant really take them?

I just throw em in a bag/can. Turn em in with the scrap.

Better to dig a beaver tail than a zinky. At least you had a chance at a ring. But I would rather hear a zinc than hear my mother in law.

The rotted zinc's get tossed the copper and other clad gets tumbled

I roll them up and exchange them for cash at a bank I loathe. Lol

I doubt most places even look at the pennies they get. Another alternative is banks. They take them and then turn them in to the federal reserve as "mutilateds". That's how all badly damaged money, paper or coins, gets pulled out of circulation.

I find they spend just like the shiny new ones:)
