What do you do with your finds?

Well lets see, I accumualted so much scrap iron junk and didn't have any where to put it my wife tossed a lot of it one day while I was at work. The only sad thing is that a really messed up gun that I was going to try electrolosis on was in among the stuff she tossed.

All aluminum goes into a big plastic trash can, I will rinse it off and take it to the recycle center at the end of the year, maybe get enough to buy batteries.

Some jewelry has been given to family and friends.

All silver and wheat pennies go in a special box, I am not getting rid of any of this.

Clad will be cashed in and I will use it to buy a nice coin or two off of ebay or from the local coin shop at the end of the year.

i cash in the clad, and save the silver and tokens in a collection. i really dont have any desire to sell them.

Indiana,

I keep all pre 64 coins, rings, watches, and anything else of considerable value. ;)

Recently I bought a Chicago Tumbler from Harbor Freight and cleaned all my coins. :D

I sorted out pre 64 coins that I couldn't identify prior to cleaning. :D

Tomorrow (Monday) I plan to take the clean target heap to the bank and cash in for green backs. ;D

Green backs will be used to help finance my pending treasure hunting trip to south FL, I fly out Tuesday. ;D

I have everything I have found as far as coins, watches, rings, tokens, etc.I throw out complete junk but hold on to the neat stuff even if it has to value. I have been offer lots of times for some of the rings I have but sorry none are for sale

Clad is spent, copper and brass for scrap, keeping my old coins for my daughters.

I started clad collections for 4 grandkids in folders....pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters starting in 1965 and have pretty well filled them up, but there are a few unfilled spaces. I keep all silver and wheats. The rest gets cleaned and I keep a savings account at the bank just for MD finds. I use that for new accessories, i.e. coils, diggers, pinpointers, gps, etc. Gave some rings to relatives, but still have 120+ in my "museum".

clad saved to better up detector wise & for spending cash --silver coins and silver & gold jewelry unbroken kept ---class rings returned if I can find the owner --- relic items depends on what it is --- Ivan

I save all the coins and jewelry. I will pass it on some day to my kids. I also keep all pulltabs and things I consider odd.

TAKE CARE AND HAPPY HUNTING --- KINGPULLTAB

All jewelry sold on e- bay or given as gifts.change turns into gas for hunting and unusual goes in a treasure box.

Junk goes in the trash, as it should, all other finds go into a treasure chest. I never sell anything I find but do give away some rings and other interesting objects. My wife does the same thing as I do. I use to count the money I found but no longer do that, I just put it in a box for a rainy day.
HH and I hope the detecting Gods shine upon you

I'm in the spend clad, toss trash, save everything else catagory.

Years back i sold off all my silver...sorry I did now. Wont do that again.

I got half of one of those big 6 quart pickle jars full of dirty stuff i havent cleaned yet. Gotta get me a tumbler or something someday so I can see what it really is.

IndianaSmith,

Now... I keep all my silvers and gold....God forbid if the market crashes again. The only thing worth anything would be silver and gold.

I cash in the clad, keep the silver and for some strange reason I sell the tokens on ebay.
The tokens are usually more valuable than the coins. My best was a Ft Robinson post exchange token that I got $310 for.

I keep all my clad.......the really beat up coins I keep separate. I keep my silver and old keeper coins in their box and my wheats in another. I also keep religious medals and dog tags. My ring finds I have given away to family with the exception of a gold ring I found. I will definately keep gold jewelry. I don't plan on cashing in any of my clad. Part of the fun for me is to watch it grow. I'd like to see just how big a clad pile I can accumulate.
