I've been pondering possibilities myself having just restarted up and keeping a running tally on all my hunts. Naturally I started thinking about the possibilities .. upgrade equipment, stash it away, invest in precious metals/coins, or spend it on something else nothing to do with metal detecting.

So I'm curious - what does everyone else do with their clad?

Seems every year I toss it all into large glass containers with a plan for it's future use, only to end up using it for something else. :laughing7: So I guess you could call mine...."the impulse fund."

Another thought I had is to invest some in coin roll hunting..

Quarters are used for car wash, rest goes in jars and gets cashed in when full.

I clean my clad and then I fish vending machines with my discolored clad and roll the clean ones I get out of the vending machines. I roll them up and deposit them into my hobby account after the season ends (normally mid to late January). I use this account for upgrades and other hobby related expenses.

S-P-E-N-D I-T!

I buy silver bullion and rounds with my detected clad at the end of the year.
My pocket change, at the end of the year, goes into the vacation fund....for antique shops/souvenirs etc....
And at the end of the year, eyeball find money, along with coinstar clad rejects, goes towards a nice gift for myself.

Most of my clad goes through the CoinStar machine and gets turned into gift certificates.

Use it to buy more stuff to get more clad. :)

My wife claims all my clad, I keep it in a jar for her to spend at her leisure. I keep a few quarters for myself every now and then...:sad5:

I buy Morgan Silver Dollars

Usually every couple of months I cash it in and buy a new car or truck, sometimes take a couple of week vacation to the islands or Europe..........................:headbang:

Just kidding!!!! But seriously just hope to get enough at years end to update equipment.

I like that you diversify. My coin star finds are currently ahead by far, but my girl gets first claim to them .. and probably to any other jewelery I find elsewhere, lol

I skip over a lot of clad signals, so the small amount I do find usually just sits around forever.

Into a Coinstar at the end of the year and onto a Amazon gift card.
