What do I have here?

Hi I am needing help in identifying what this piece is for my aunt. It is milk glass with flowers on it. Has cast iron bottom and insert in side is metal with holes. It is 13 inches tall. Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

bottom part to a vase type oil lamp. burner,globe and shade are missing

I agree with Reale Bill. In this photo you can see the brass fuel bowl that would sit in the top of the vase. Hope this helps.

Yes it is an oil lamp and this type is also referred to as a Hurricane Lamp. Sometimes people also convert these old, hurricane lamps into electrical lamps.
