What did 'stuff' cost in 1960

That's inflation for ya. It's amazing how much things go up in a fiat currency when it doesn't have any real value except an empty promise. Sad to say most sheeple in America don't notice it or even question why their dollar is worthless hehe.

Here is what I would like to come back.. then the cost of all goods would also come down.

——> In 1960 a gallon of gas was 25 cents and by 1969 was 35 cents

It still costs about the same with two or three silver dimes in melt value except now two dimes aren't worth $.05 melt, so neither is the money.
This is the exact reason the Constitution states our money must only be gold and silver coinage, to avoid these problems and keep the government honest.
We see how long that's lasted.

It seems that if one just puts a zero behind some of the prices it's in line of what we pay today.

Had to include Carlin's video from that link.

Food prices today are just plain sickening. Makes me want to plant a garden and raise my own livestock. I'll be to old and decrepit by the time I can afford a place to do that though, lol.

In 1960, I was 10 years old. I wasn't paying attention to the cost of living. Why, I didn't even have a car. Lol

if i was alive back then i would been hording all the dimes, quarters, half dollars, and paper money

Thanks for sharing!

Gee didn't know you such an ol' fart against the wind. :)

There is an excellent book called "Whatever happened to Penny Candy" ? Its very easy reading. I would recommend it to everyone out there.

Best video to watch about inflation is "the creature from Jekyll Island".
