**SOLVED** I found this MDing in Mass. Other identifiable coins near site were large draped bust c1790s. It's really hard to see image. I haven't cleaned other than water. The image appears to be a mans head facing to the left. Nothing identifiable on the reverse. Sorry I don't have measurement or weight at this time. This coin is much thinner than the US bust coins.

Looking at the borders of the bust on my specimen this could be close! I can almost make out s coupe letters on the obverse. Leg me try to restore a little more. Now I have something to look for! Thank you so much!

You must really know your coins because that's what it is! I can see the "II" on the right side and I can make out the correct image on the reverse now that I know what I'm looking at. My next goal is to try to catch the date off it. Have you ever tried electrolysis on old copper?

It's tough to tell from the pictures, but it seems that if you plan on cleaning this further you run the risk of losing the detail that's already there. That's my opinion at least...

I've found lots of these in similar condition in the UK and tried all manner of ways of cleaning them. They always look worse afterwards because they tend to pit very badly. If it was me, I would do no more than put a small drop of engine oil on it, rub it in gently and leave it at that.
