I'm thinking about getting a new coil for my ace 250.
WHen I'm searching a large area that I want to hit every square inch of, I feel like a larger coil would help me cover more ground.
I get tired of searching for any gold, because of the heavily trash infected areas, so it made me think about maybe getting a sniper coil so I can zero in on the target I want to dig. The way I'm set up now, I have to dig every single target in an area to be able to tell what I'm hearing, because the signals are just all over the place. I just get tired of digging solid trash. . . so I end up just setting it for silver (dime quarter and maybe half) and having zero chance of finding any thing but silver, clad, and the occasional junk.

So, what is your most valuable/versatile coil?

Thanks,

In the trashy areas your talking about the Sniper will shine. Since I gave my 9x12 coil a chance I don't see where I'll ever use the stock coil again. So I would suggest buying both coils.

I think you answered your own question....get the large coil, as it will cover a larger area faster, give you some more added depth and it still maintains its sensitivity to tiny targets...... :icon_study:

For a large area the big coil is dandy, but for smaller heavy junk areas the sniper coil is superb. my answer? To accomplish what you want to do, you need them both. I have all three and probably use the larger coil less than the standard and sniper. The big coil is kinda heavy and upsets the balance of the machine, at least for me. Monty

I love the big coil. I use it all the time. I just got the sniper coil for high trash area's. It's great for that, but I think I can pick out good targets in all but real high trash area's with the big coil. Your not going to cover a lot of ground with the sniper coil though. the big coil will get you a little more depth. It does take a lot of time to learn the big coil and get good with it.

I have a S.E.F. 15x12 butterfly search coil and love it. I have had much success, only thing is is that I had to order it from the UK.
