Here are three of my favorite buttons,
  • Eagle I cuff button, back marks (HORTSMANN'S N.Y. & PHI.)
  • Bear Sportsman's button, 1830's era, back marks (Wadhams & Co. * Superfine *)
  • War of 1812 Patriotic button, back marks (INDEPENDENCE AND COMMERCE)

Don't have a camera but I found some cool old buttons out by calico ghost town when I was a kid
 

I'm going to add my US Infantry 8th reg issued 1798-1802 very early! Button that i found today!!

Does anyone know if there are any magazines or books that show pictures of buttons for Identification?
