A grommet and shiny one possible buckle I can't expand your pic to see better but that is my guess's.

square item is a buckle;;;; likely either a cross chest strap belt buckle or a small pants type buckle ..the other might be a brass rifle end that mounted on a wood gun stock ..the hole might be where the barrel fit thru it at
