My best guess on your wooden bird is that it once adorned a Cuckoo Clock. When it was broken off of the clock, it was fashioned into a brooch. Can't help you with the little "gear puller" tool thing. Happy Hunting, Sub

Being a mechanic I thought it was a boring tool for something? The picture pretty much says it. The clock thingy. Now that you say that it was part of a clock explains the tail of the bird which looks like it was broken. I think we have the answers with the forums help. Thanks........RESOLVED
