I know what the buckle and nail are, but the two pieces on the left. Those were found right next to each other in the middle of nowhere, are they related? Also these are all under 5 inches in length, and are possibly composed of iron (except the brass buckle). Found in Massachusetts.
What is it.webp

Welcome to Tnet, Your second item looks to be a knife, the first looks like a oxen shoe? HH

Thanks for the welcome, I just came across this site here. First year metal detecting, 2nd day actually. But yeah I thought the knife thing was rather strange.

Yeah within a couple feet, which is why I was wondering if they were once connected or related in some way.

Could you post other pic's of the first item, closeups of both sides it might be a broken scythe? HH Your second item is a knife and not part of the first.

The fourth item looks like a punch to countersink finish nails. I've seen them in both steel and brass.

Looks like a punch to me too, but I really can't tell because the pic is too small. Welcome to the forum. :) Breezie

Yes I would say that last one is a nail set. I use one a lot. So that's my guess.
