✅ SOLVED What are these stone balls

I found these stone balls with a metal detector near the Tennessee river. They were around 4" to 6" deep and the metal detector was picking up zinc on the larger one. The metal detector is not picking up anything on the small one it was beside the larger ones when I found them. The large one is 76.39mm and weighs 1.16lb the small one is 31.52mm and weights 13oz. There were 4 total found all together 3 large 1 small any idel on what they are.

Mill Balls

I thought mill balls were either iron or ceramic these are limestone. I was thinking that they could be water filtration ball like the ones you find in the chattahoochee river in georga but I'm not sure.

Well being lime stone I don't think they would last very long rolling around aginst eack other, so not Mill Balls.
Your thought of filtration balls could be correct, but why the zinc coating??
The mystery continues....

If they are water filtration balls they probably picked up enough trace metals to set your detector off.

Makes sense I went back and found 16 more large ones and 3 smaller ones.
