no surprising they are light .. my own guess is Petrified Wood .. but i am not sure..

I just went outside and picked up a piece of coal, Sure looks like your rocks there, and it is harder than "charcoal" and will not write on paper, Mine just scratches the paper too...There is an old abandoned coal mine about 200 feet from my house ;D
I can get you more if you want it ::)

looks like Obsidian rock to me, or Apache Tears....type that in your search key and go look at some obsidian pictures....thats what it looks like to me.

Sent an email to Ruby city were i got the Bucket of gemstones from and they identify the rocks as Black Tourmaline so there you go guys.

The bottom right rock looks more like a broken piece of garnet than tourmaline, the break is all wrong.

The 3rd one in on the top sure looks like tourmaline,i saw a show on pink tourmaline and it looked like the same oblong rounded shape.

cool finds none the less
