The young teen ager holding the Hat looks to be 12 to 14 years old The symbol on the Hat he is Holding looks to Be An Image I saw in a Museum in Germany even the hat looks Familiar but I don't know where from still trying to figure out the Swords with crosses in them they look familiar also Chug

My fist thought was Military school of some kind. But not West Point or the other ones.

The bird symbol on the hat made me think Prussian.

In 1982 I Was In Germany in the Army, In 1983 Our company went on a tour of a German concentration camp Auschwitz!!! One of the worst ones that is where My Memory Saw this Image In the Museum Or one Similar to it


Hopefully it wont be another Nightmare Chug

Here is a uniform from the New York State militia circa 1890's. Plenty of similarity.

BTW - The field snare drum in the photo is late 19th or early 20th C. 1880's or earlier would be a deeper drum with rope tensioners.

Are these the same 2 guys in the pics? Earlier pics of them at a military school and later together in the state militia?

What little I can add is that besides the eagle being Polish as suggested the hat itself is definitely a rogatywka (particular type of czapka)... finding this out taught me the only Polish words I know.
