What are these little porcelain things? They say W&N London on them~~

These things were found when I was metal detecting in my parents yard. The house was built in the late 1800's to early 1900's. I had a signal that turned out to be a Barber quarter and dug these up while looking for it. They are made of white porcelain(?) and say "W&N LONDON" , they are 3/4" long and 1/2" deep. I think I found the trash pit because they almost look like they've been burned and the quarter has black all over it. Any information would be greatly appreciated and thanks for looking! sandcreek4

I knew what they were but never did find a picture to "back it up" ... well done as always Matt!
