Cousin ED found this .
The lock was in 3 pieces....body 2 pieces and the clasp.
He found the 1st piece in thick slimey mud....2nd piece he found 20 feet away in the slimey mud.
Then he got home cleaned it all up.....and starting looking threw his previoys finds ...found the 3rd piece..the clasp.
He had been to this location a few times....not guaranteed that he found it there...but sure looks like its the right one !!
NOW....
The kicker to this story is...look ayt the initial on the front of the lock.....it is an "E"..... ED. !!!!!
LOL..Struck me as so odd that I had to post it for him.
Any ideas on the age of the lock ??
The shiney stuff you see on the lock is tape to hold it together..he gonna get it spot welded if possible .
