What about those deep-fried apple pies that McD's used to have???

You remember the ones.....they had the piping hot filling and you had to eat one VERY strategically to keep from getting burned by it. But thanks to all the lawsuit-happy people out there you can't get 'em anymore. :(

Well Good News!!! (for me anyway) Burger King has them over here in Iraq and the McDonald's at Ali Al-Salem Airbase in Kuwait has them also. I could care less about the burgers, They don't taste like home anyway.....I mainly go for those dangerous little pies! Incidentally, the McDonald's down in Kuwait and probably in the rest of the Gulf Region still uses the styrofoam containers for their sandwiches.

Oh wow, I remember my Mom keeping those styrofoam containers for feeding the cats out of.

I always thought the old deep fried apple pies were so much better tasting than the new oven baked ones they have now.

Wow, it's been years since I had a fried one! The baked ones are really flourey, not all like when I was a kid. Aaahhh those were the days, when styrofoam was ok and you could buy a boiling hot pie. Even as a child I was smart enough not to put one of those things in my mouth until my happy meal was gone. Why couldn't those law-suit happy adults figure that one out?

KFC has the deep-fried type. 2 for $1.50 versus 2 for $1.00 at Mickey D's, but well worth the investment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad to see ya' around,

In the train station? I ate there once, till I found the Panini shop next door. I think all the Euro MickD's use styro.

I'm not sure where all Checkers are, but we didn't have them back up in Missouri...
But down here in Florida, they have my favorite fried apple pies... rolled in cinnamon & sugar!!!

Funny you mention the styrofoam, I guess since the US is going 'green", we had to dump that product somewhere else :laughing9: As for the deep fried, that went the way of the dodo bird since they can't use transfats which gave food a great taste, but is bad for the heart

Well just about anything that is supposed to be good for you sucks! You only live once so, eat what you want and enjoy it. Like Emeril says PORK FAT RULES!!!
