Not quite as good as SoCalMark, but I'll take it. My son and I
went to 7 banks in an affluent area of my county. I guess they
don't care about the silver % there. We went to a couple of banks
and scored 2 Franklins a 62 and 61, as well as 5- 40%.
The last bank the teller said she had $50 and brought them out.
They were old and had been taped shut. When I got back to my truck
I peeled the wrapper open and saw a gleaming '64 staring back at me.
I split the wrapper up the side and all I could see was silver! My son
yelled "We're Rich"!
We called out dates to each other and when we were done, out of 100
halves 90 were silver. 3 more Franklins 1-58 1-62-163, 21- '64s, 1-65, 6-66s, 45-67s 11-68s and 5-69s. 3 were foreign. One French Franc and 2 British pences.
We even called my wife at work, of course she thought we were nuts.
There are several more banks I'm going to tomorrow in that area.
All the bank employees I met with were very polite and not one asked me if I had an account.
One thing I learned and has been said here before is be persistent.
I thought something like this was a "pipe" dream, especially after
reading SCMarks post......I hope this doesn't spoil me now.
