Well checked the weather forecast early this afternoon. It said dry until 19.00 and then light rain. I spent most of the day taking stuff to the tip, and mowing the grass. This meant I could squeeze in a short session between 17.00 - 19.00. I got to the local site around 17.00, and was detecting ten minutes later. Five minutes later it was raining, and I wouldn't say lightly. Result back in the car by 18.00, but happy. The short wet session, produced a nice Roman bronze brooch. Roman brooches are fairly common finds over here. What sets this one apart, is that it's pin is complete. Roman brooches nearly always come up with there pins missing or damaged. To find one with a complete pin is rare . Other finds were a nice spoon handle, probably late medieval, and a little button 17th century or there about. Robert.
