Here are my finds from 2010. All are from Western PA...most are out of three sites. NOTE: The two trays on the upper right are purchased points. Most pieces not in the frames are flakes or just 'interesting rocks' that required closer examination. Hope you enjoy. This is my first post!

Nice finds and welcome. I hunt SWPA and would like to see some close ups also. It’s always nice to see what others are finding in the local area.

Close-up number one. Let me know if you have any questions!

Close-up Number Two...Do you agree that banded slate in the center is a gorget? I imagine it having five holes. Do you think?

Nice. Are those two points in the last pic made of ground slate??

Chuck

Yes, I believe so. There is a huge mix of material types and styles. The sites are along the Allegheny River where it meets with a tributary (that's as much as I'll divulge!). Almost all are field surface finds, though the last frame includes creek finds. I have to imagine this was a major stopping point and camp for them.

I would love to see close up of those two points. Looks like you are doing quite well.

Thanks and congrats

Chuck

Will do. Traveling for business this week. Curious...what interests you so much about them? I'm no expert by any stretch...just lucky enough to have some spots and an interest. What does that tell you about the points? Origin? Age? To be honest, I didn't think twice about them.
