Good evening everyone. My wife and I are from western NC and just had our first day with a Bounty Hunter T4 and had some amazing finds for the first few hours using a MD.
I have one in particular that I will mor than likely need some help with in identifying. I will post pics as soon as I can get some that are suitable. But first to describe the find. We had a faint hit , in "tone only" mode with sesittivity and disc. turned to the max. The tone was faint , but clear , and sounded off as a silver type target. After digging about six inches and re-scanning the hole the tone became louder , and distinct , still in the silver range. Finally at about 10 inches we found a "lump" that looked like a very strange rock , but running it under the coil confirmed this was definitely the target. After some spit and polish it had some metallic characteristics , but it looks as if it is a molten lump with a tail that had been abruptly broken off.

After cleaning with soap, water and a soft toothbrush , the rock has bugun to have some shine , with a "burned" looking leading edge. The tail seems as if it has a streak of oxidized iron in its center , but shows no magnetic properties at all. The "lump" is approx. 7/8" wide , and overal length of about 1 1/2" with a thickness of about 1/2". What I will call the "foot" of the "lump" has pock marks and the tail as I said ends in a very jagged abrupt edge. I know this description leaves way too much to speculation without photos , but I was hoping that perhaps some of you may have run across this before and recognize the characteristics. Any insight will be greatly appreciated , and again I hope to post pics as soon as I can get some that truly represent the find.

Oh and btw , we will be regular contributors. I bought the BHT4 for my wife as a companion to the Fisher F2 that I have on the way. After only one day , we appear to have found a completely new obsession.

Welcome to the site and the obsession ;)
