Sorry for not posting a pic yet, but I had a question about this casing I dug this evening. It came out of the ground silver colored--now I'm sure it's not silver plated, so what's the story with these bullets--nickel plated? How old would it be approximately? I was surprised that it was not corroded after being in the ground. First I ever dug like this. I also dug a REM-UMC No. 20 SHURSHOT...is this from a 20 gauge shotgun? Also found what I thought was a coin, but in fact looks like a musketball that has been pounded into a coinlike form with a white patina on it--anyone ever see this before? It's thinner on one side than the other and not quite round, but close. Is it Colonial "play money" or was someone just bored? Any other ideas?
