Headed out with max today to hunt around the area west of the big rocks. Construction crews have been removing old jettys and we are hitting them hard until they back fill with new sand like I had seen them doing yesterday. Had my excal with me today and max was swinging his 705 (AKA: "Jr.") The hunt for me was pretty uneventful, I was actually getting a bit frustrated as I had only found a few coins and LOTS more aluminum slag.....that crap is EVERYWHERE down there! Along with all the iron as well. I was making my way back toward where max was hunting after pretty much striking out and I hit a low tone. I knew it was small but thought it might be some foil or a deep pull tab. 2 scoops and its outta the hole and BAM! I couldn't believe it! Just when I was thinking of calling it quits, a 14k ladies wedding band!
I was pretty stoked! Wanted to run down the beach and show max but was afraid to miss any more so I kept hunting! Max made his way down toward me later on and took some pictures and video as well which he will post later tonight. So, in the end it turned out to be a GREAT day!
