I'm 100% positive that it is the face off of an old lock. Tennessee digger.... and yes, I too would like to have whatever it had locked up!

Cool finds buddy.

Digger any idea what age it might be would it be from the Civil War time period flat buttons carved bullet and several drops lead me to believe that this was definitely a civil war site plus I know the history of the area

I'll try to look it up tomorrow, don't have time right now.

You guys rock!!! Thanks for helping me id the lock. Its from the early 1900's. Also learned there was one found like it near Jesse James home place in Missouri. So maybe we just have to find the lockbox now LOL. Really these were commonly used on rural mailboxes and sold locally manufactured by E. T. Fraim Lock Co. of Lancaster, PA

Cool lock face!
