You know, just one of those nice leisurely strolls, on a beautiful afternoon? The one that includes about a thousand deep knee bends? ;)

Anyway, I didn't do too terrible. Got pretty much what I came for plus a couple of those nice surprises along the way that just keeps you coming back for more.

Here's the over all:

When I got this I said WHOA! What cannon fired that!! LOL
But with a little closer examine, it looks like it was plated. Whatever it was, (don't suppose the Lone Ranger started with a large caliber, huh.) :)

One of those surprises, albeit a little toasty. 1916.

Then, I noticed that the property next to the school was being razed for something. The workers had left for the day and I was pretty well tired out. I figured I'll pass the coil over some piled up topsoil. There, right on top, which was the bottom before. :)

Was this token. Not familiar with it but figured that since it's in such nice shape it must be modern. :dontknow:

At this point I'm pretty wiped and figuring to try this again tomorrow when I'm a little fresher.

On the way out I'm calling my shots, can-slaw, pull tab, foil, nickel, quarter, and on the last hit of the day?

Now where have I heard that before?

I called this as an absolutely, positive, no doubt about it, another blasted zincoln!!
I even said what do I need with a metal detector, with eyes that can tell what it is before I even dig! LOL

I dug:

ABSOLUTELY! POSITIVELY!

WRONG!! :)

I was tired, it was 8 inches down, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Anyway, thanks for peeking! Hope it was an enjoyable visit.

Not that I know much either, but this one kind of eludes determining too. I tried to find online, could only find one other picture. Not much help though.

Interesting, N'est-ce pas? :)

Thanks!

Looks like a fun day to me with a nice ending!

Looks like another Whadifind day, always impressed with your finds:notworthy: It was a nice day here too, just not as productive as yours!

Nice finds, always nice when a shiney washington is staring back at ya from the hole

The amount of finds is probably easy to figure. I generally hunt for 3-4 hours. Some don't have the time to do that, probably just a difference in the time spent.

Thanks for the comments!

As always, a most enjoyable account

Thank you for the kind words. But, I think that it's the finds that does most of the talking. LOL

Glad you enjoyed the rendition. :)

I checked a bit too, no dice.
Nice find though, and gotta love that silver! Congrats!

Congrats on the silver quarter! :icon_thumright: On the Tres Bon token, my search shows there's a Tres Bon Bakery in Hawaiian Gardens, CA (between L.A. & Long Beach), also looks like there may be one in Paris too, so maybe it's time for you to take a trip, lol. My bet is that it is an old bakery token as sure looks like wheat sheaf & wheat grains on your token. Andi
