That bent plate is the back plate of a fishing reel.The arrow with the knob on the other side is the "clicker" which kept the spool from freewheeling.The spring for the clicker is missing.The knob slipped the clicker in or out of engagement with the spool.The fisherman maybe had a fit and trashed his reel?
And i did say this in the pic post. But the flink lock think is part of a toy gun. Not real. sounds like most thought it was real. Sorry to be the party pooper.
That "flintlock" if it is not a toy is actually a caplock. A nipple goes inside the lock and the hammer sets it off. A flintlock would have a frizzen pan. JIM
