They said they want to start charging me $7.50 for each box now mind this. I have been using another wells fargo branch for over a year now every friday $200 in nickels and $50 in cents. But out of the blue this one wants to charge me i simply cant see how that works it costs them money to get money??? I decided not to use that branch anymore they asked me if i want to order more to give a weeks notice and that they will make me pay what it costs them to get them so i said to go ahead and order me $500 in nickels and $200 in cents they said no problem. So if what they say is true its going to cost them $105 but what they dont know if i wont be picking them up. :D

Nice, hopefully they have no way to tie it to you. Were you just picking up there without having an account? Try BOA. I have no account and only went there on suggestion. Never had an issue picking up boxes.

I have a feeling its not as steep as $7.50 per box (unless its a small bank), but yes the coin couriers do charge the banks to deliver and process coins.

I read somewhere that it was around 4% that the couriers charge the banks. It could be more or less depending on what bank it is and how much business they do. But yes, banks do pay money to get "money". When you were picking up boxes for free you were costing them money. And in more ways than one. It wasn't just the courier fee but also the teller's time to receive them from the courier, enter them into the system for accounting purposes, potentially account for them each day until you come get them, and then to go and get them for you when you finally arrived to pick them up. It's not much but it all adds up.

yes wellsfargo has a fee, not always handed out though but 7.50 a box that is the fee, but some dont know about it as it is farely new i think...

ya that is the corporate policy but its up to the branch manager or service manager.

Theres 1 that enforces it now bar none, 1 tried for a bit and then said screw it, the rest dont.

If one enforces it strictly just turn them into a dump bank, that's what I did.

I'd tell em to suck a fart. that's terrible. like they think every box we get has 7.50 in profit. I just send my girlfriend in and she gets boxes at banks we have no association with.... find a new bank brother

go in and ask for $200 in nickles and $40 in cents. If didn't get a box so there should be no charge. Then in the next day or so do it again......Matt
