Well,.Sometimes ?
Hi all ,. haven't posted in some time now ,. just haven't been out. But there's a change in the air , cooler weather out at the Ol' Au claim Etc ,. need to do some hunt'n,. of any kind !! Historicly ,.. out here in So. Cali the point hunt'n season begins with the first winter storms . the dust from the past year gets nocked off 'em , easy pick'ns . I like to hunt fire breaks , road beds [edges] , etc,. not much in the way of "row crop cultivation" out here,.but it's not only man moving earth out here,. gophers & ground squirrel's , which are more prairie dog then squirrel , can move a lot of dirt over a year,. then with the first storm's ,. washes it all clean .

Anyway ,. first winter storm came though Wednesday ,.earliest in years??well , I was snowed out at work [@6,000ft.]. So, on my way home ,thought maybe I should stop by one of my old point hunt'n area's ,. just for a bit . I did just that ,. took a few pic's ,. found this point,. spotted it at about 8 ft ,. they really pop out just after a rain ,. don't they ? well,. thought good enough ?? headed home ,. well spent hour,. I'd say.

This quartz point is 5/8 in. long ,.typed as a costal cottonwood ,. I would consider it "smallish" as 70% +/_ of the local point's are 3/4in to 7/8 in long ,. at around 1/2 in,. that's get'n tiny .

Hunt'n weather just get'n here in So. Cali ,.. Blindpig
