Have not posted in a while but wanted to share this one. Nothing unique but this V Nickel I "fished" in a river was so well preserved that I thought I would share. Pics are at the river. It came out really nice after clean-up. Full liberty visible. Was in the water under 3" of gravel and sand and did not corrode much at all.

That is a bodacious V nickel and "congrats" to you for your find - thanks for sharing your pictures and story & I wish you many more great finds while out treasure hunting.

Really nice for a 'V'! I found a 1900 in the same shape last fall. It was found lying on top of the ground at an old ghost town in Calif. near the Nevada border. The only difference is the patina...the one I found is a pale green.

Amazing find man! Keep it up!

Great coin Ive done a lot of detecting in wooded areas the funny thing is most of my v nickels were found on the pathsn in and out I don't like digging on the paths cause of bike riders walkers ect mostly old paths Great job!!!

All nickels do well in the water, but poorly in the dirt.

Congrats on a sweet V nickel!

Why do older nickels come out looking like pennies in terms of color? I'm surprised that electrolysis won't even remove that corrosion.
