Spent a little time at the early 1900s location and dug a few buttons and wheaties (not pictured), then went off walking beginning my searching of the thousands of acres for an earlier site. Stumbled upon one and with about 3.5 hours left in the hunt I pulled these guys.

Happy hunting!

Looking good. Oughta be some large coppers and hopefully colonial silver waiting for you

I'm very surprised you didn't find some coins like other have stated, but they're there. Keep at it and knock down the layers of signals.

WHOA! I guess you did find an early site! I agree with toasted...you should be raking in early coppers and silvers soon. Good luck there and happy hunting...ddf

I was too Scrap, granted I did spend a lot of time chasing mid tones as you can see from the button collection hah. I may go at it with the SE and WOT coil next time to cover more ground.

Can't believe they lost all of these buttons and no coins (at least that I've found yet).

Congratualtions on the awesome relic hunt! :occasion14:

My last two times out to my hayfield I found about 10 or 15 buttons, my hunting partner found one coin in that area. A hundred yards away I found numerous coins, now of course the difference is I do know the exact location of the house where maybe yours is just reveling itself to you. If it were me, I'd just start my grid from that point out. I'd be coming home very stoked after finding that many buttons just knowing that the next few hunts were going to be amazing too. Nice work on scouting that field, great hunt.

Looks like some good times are gonna be had there!!!! CONGRATZ....

In the third pic down. What do you assume the bar like object is above the button? I found something very similar this week just like it. 20170129_185805.jpg

Not sure, 2 of the objects are clearly buckle fragments but the bar and the ornate large piece up top have me baffled. Wish I could figure it out. At the top left is a slightly hooked object with decorative markings, arced like a trigger but I can't figure that one out either.

You had a hulluva great hunt. Coppers will be popping out soon with that many targets. Based on the qty of finds looks like you have a virgin site on your hands.

Wow, Nice finds, hopefully some coins are just the next dig away.

Thanks, I hope so!!!!
It was fun once I got into it, gridded the hot area without too much discipline about 60 yds by 30 and once the targets started coming, I was dropping a knee every few steps for awhile there. Just found another old button in the pouch that I missed in the pics.

I can't wait to get back out there and search the surrounding field.

Aside from iron tones a single small porcelain fragment and a couple old bleached oyster shells that had been plowed up, there was zero indication that anything had been there as far as a structure in the past. No brick fragments, depression, obvious Knolls, etc. A few pieces of glass in the holes I dug but nothing identifiable.
