It's obviously bent, but not flattened like we used to do on a train track...so.....I don't know ::)

army air corps were armed with .38 police specials and .45 automatics for flight crews. Suspect this is an edge hit from a 45. siegfried schlagrule

it was hit off center --the bullet streched the coin into the shape its in as it went past it

I know i've found other shot coins but this was the only one I could find now. It's a 1977 clad penny and took a pretty bad hit and knocked quite a hole in old Abe.

That's a bullet shot coin like others have said, I've shot enough to tell that.
