I found this triangle out in my field, the ground had alot of charcoal in it, looks like something burned there, because a penny I found was sieged pretty badly by fire, this piece has less fire damage, also in the area found lots of nails all different kinds and sizes.

But this object came up as coin on my detector, it acts like its like silver or something. It's kind of light but not really, about the size weight as a quarter.

What is it?

P.S. it's really thin as you can see.

Is it a print block?

Does it have a slit on one side & a reverse letter on the end?

There is a little tiny line that goes down about maybe 1/4" but its like not cut out or anything, almost like drawn on it. On the other side on the very tip of the triangle is a small raised part that is a triangle design.

Then I'm sticking with print block.

Know anything that would look like it to compare? and I don't know what a print block is.

I have found many but none in a triangle shape (which worries me a little on the ID).

Its probably got a technical name other than 'print block' but basically it is part of a set that had each letter of the alphabet & shapes & numbers. These were used in a printing machine to produce things like newspapers & books.

Looks like a piece cut out from an aluminum L angle.

Appears to be part of the "Web" left from the angle at the top.

Aka, scrap from metal fabrication (welding, machining, etc).

The line could possibly a scribe mark.

Normally a print block was made from lead or some type of easily re-melted soft metal. Although it could be just a shim or metal shaving.

A large glaziers point from a window?

I cant find a pic on the internet but i have seen small triangle metal pieces used on old windows by glazers.

That is what is hammered into the corner of a drawer to hold it together. If the chest or whatever burned, this would have been left. Monty
