I posted this over on the fossil forum thinking it might be some kind of fossil, but apparently not. So that makes it "just a rock", I guess, but this is not like rocks I normally see around here (southwest Missouri). So far I've found a grand total of three rocks like this. They remind me of the conglomerate rocks that have lots of little crinoid pieces and other little fossils, but the consensus is that these aren't fossils. So maybe some kind of mineral inclusion or something? The photos are hard to see -- the raised ridges and bumps have a different, lighter color than the rest of it. And I don't know if the reddish color is natural or iron staining (these were found in a cellar hole with iron in proximity). Does anyone recognize what they are? We kept them because they're unusual, so I'm just curious of they're a recognizable "something" or really "just a weird rock".
