Hello, Steve here.
I'm new to this whole metal detecting thing, and am developing my skills in my backyard. I'm using a Garrett AT Pro, and my property used to be part of George Washington's Union farm, and my neighborhood wasn't developed until 1964. So I was getting a hit around 75-80+ (the sensitivity level was pre-set to maximum). I dug up a small wire that I think might be aluminum, and also a very thin folded metal object. I cleaned the objects, and carefully unfolded the metal object, and it looks like some kind of a tag. It was folded along the lines that run from top to bottom of the tag, into a kind of long triangular shape, and it looks like it was clipped about an inch down (possibly by my shovel). It's certainly junk, but I'm really intrigued about what it might be. Has anyone else ever found one of these? There are no markings, and it looks like it's fairly modern, even though I dug it out of about 10+/- inches of marine clay.

Thanks in advance.

Interesting. The shape and dimensions don't seem to fit the window screen theory. And the hole was hammered or tacked in. But thanks for your keen insight.

It has been flatened out. You can see the creases where the bends were. Tony

I think relic nut is right. Here is an image with dimensions. Of course, different brands won't match up exact, but they'll be in the ballpark.

Makes sense. Still wondering why the edges would be rounded off, but I have a tendency to analyze everything. Thanks all!
