Weird Lead Piece

Howdy All. I found this at a 1900's homestead site in FL. It is lead and reminds me a drawer or cabinet pull but I have never seen one of this thickness and made of lead. Also, it looks handmade because its shape is irregular and it appears to be hand cut. Thanks and good luck.

My guess is a vintage peephole cover.

its part of an old battery post i'm almost 85% sure from a glass jar battery. That's my guess

I believe the reason for shaping it that way was to produce more surface area for the reaction to take place.
