Weird lead object found

Today I found a very weird lead object that is about an inch and a half in circumference an weighs about three ounces. Did find in a field that there was a revolutionary war skirmish. Any ideas?

It is lead. It is not from a crotal bell.

I considered lead weight for a cast net....then found they seem to prefer the egg style for those.To prove they like the egg type I post this pic.....purely for educational purposes...

So here is a reqest on-one had: can you post a pic of the bottom?
Does it look like it is broken or cut off with a saw from a bigger piece?

Could it be part of a duck hunting decoy?

Ok, RelicDude asked a good question. If it's soft it might be lead, the scratch should be realy shiny silvery...

Yes i have done that to a small part on the bottom. That is how i confirmed its lead

could it be an anchor for the bottom of third base

Can you post a pic of the bottom? And if it was made of pewter and you dug at it the mark would also be bright and shiny like lead
