Weird coil behaviour - 5" coil id's 1$ coin differently from 11" coil
Hello all,
I am using a Fisher Gold Bug Pro - with two coils: the small 5" coil and the larger 11" coil.
The two coils ID most items similarly (for example - pull tab as 59 or 60, silver coin as 95 etc.).
However, for the Canadian 1$ coin they behave very differently: the small coin ID's it with a number in the 40-50 range (not very stable), while the large coil ID's it as 10.
I have done this test in many different ways (air test, outside with coin on the ground etc.) but I am always getting the same result.
What is going on - what would explain this difference?
Thank you for any ideas...
PS: I just received a Nel Hunter coil today - that coil also ID's the $1 coin as a 10
