It almost looks like a piece from an extension ladder but I didnt know they were made out of brass. Maybe from an old wooden ladder? Im just guessing.

I think its a brake pedal for either a tractor or a buggy. Most likely a buggy as its brass.

Found this at a century farm owned by a friend. Yep, I polished it. I really like shiny brass stuff. Its 9 inches long. Both ends of the "foot" may have been broken. 1 hole is empty, the other has the remains of iron bolt or pin.
Yes ....I believe Nick has it right, but it could also be a shoe repair stand that is missing the base. By the way Nick.......I :thumbsup:like the new avatar!

Lots of good ideas. Does it swivel? Can we see another pic of the foot bottom? Is it knurled?

Agree with some type of "pedal", one through hole for a fixed pivot, the other for connecting
some type of actuator. Would be interested in seeing a few more pics from different angles.

Hey Nick....Should I give a call to "Tony Carlotto" to "Whack out" your identity theft crook? The air base is a big place...I don't think anyone would find him there. LOL

I'm leaning away from shoe shine, as I think its overall length is too small for that, also bronze/brass probably too soft for farm machinery. It could be a pedal from a barber chair or dentist chair. We had an antique one in the lobby where I used to work and it had a foot pedal very similar. Here is an example of one that is close to what you have:

I think Jeep mcmuddy might have it. Hard to tell with just one angle in the photo. Monty

Could be that too. Remember the location found. The center hole would be the pivot point and the hole at the other end would be the accuator end.
